The Adamawa State High Court in Yola has sentenced a drug hawker, Habu Badaru, and a labourer, Auwal Lawan, to death by hanging or lethal injection for the murder of a tricycle owner.
Convicted on charges of criminal conspiracy, robbery, and culpable homicide, the duo drugged and killed the tricycle operator, Algoni Muhammed, robbing him of his tricycle in Uba Hildi.
The court found them guilty of disposing of the victim’s body in a river, attempting to sell the tricycle, and ultimately failing due to lack of proper documents.
Justice Lawanson pronounced the death sentence on Tuesday, Jan. 16, stating, “May the Lord have mercy upon you.”
