Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season.

Jadon Sancho has expressed his delight at rejoining for Borussia Dortmund – admitting a return to the Bundesliga club felt like “coming home”.

The English forward has not played for Manchester United since August, 2023 due to a falling out with manager Erik Ten Hag and on Thursday finalised a loan deal to return to the Signal Iduna Park until the end of the season, two-and-a-half years after he left the club in a staggering £73m deal to move to Old Trafford.

The public feud between Sancho and Ten Hag started after September’s 3-1 defeat at Arsenal, in which the Dutchman cited the forward’s poor training standards as the reason why he was left out the squad.

Sancho subsequently hit back at such claims with a strong social media post, in which he refused to be a “scapegoat” and insisted there were “other reasons” for his absence.

In his words:

“When I came into the dressing room today, it felt like ‘coming home’. I know the club inside and out, I’ve always been very close with the fans here, and I’ve never lost contact with those in charge,” Sancho told Borussia Dortmund’s official website.

“I can’t wait to see my teammates again, go out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, prepare goals, score goals and help qualify for the Champions League.”
