Atlanta United leads nominations for MLS End-of-Year Awards

Year-end award nominations have arrived as the MLS released its first batch of nominations for the MLS End-of-Year Awards. Among the nominations, Atlanta United stands out with a total of 12 nominations for its players.

Thiago Almada and Giorgos Giakoumakis, both players from Atlanta United, lead the nominations for the 5-Stripes. They have received two nominations each, including the prestigious award for the 2023 Landon Donovan MLS Most Valuable Player. Almada has also been nominated for the MLS Young Player of the Year, while Giakoumakis is a nominee for MLS Newcomer of the Year.

Two members of Atlanta United who have made remarkable comebacks after suffering season-ending injuries in 2022 have been nominated for the MLS Comeback Player of the Year. Goalkeeper Brad Guzan and center back Miles Robinson have successfully returned to the field in 2023.

The voting period for these awards will run from October 10 to October 23. Current players, club technical staff, and media members will participate in the voting process to determine the winners. Fans will also have the opportunity to contribute by voting for the top plays of the season, including the AT&T 5G Goal of the Year and MLS Save of the Year presented by Allstate.
