The followers of the Premier League were left in shock after the body named the best young player of the 2021/22 football season.

Manchester City’s Phil Foden was named the Young Player of the Premier League season, the announcement was made on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 ahead of most notable names like Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Chelsea’s Mason Mount.

The English man has been impressive for Manchester City as they look to retain their Premier League title when they play Aston Villa on the final day of the season.

Foden scored nine goals and five assists to his name in 27 league games. He expressed his delight on the official website of the club, starting his delight for winning the award.

I am very proud to have won this award for the second season in a row. I have been really happy with my performances this season and it has been great to contribute to this team in what will hopefully be another successful year for us all.

To be nominated alongside so many great players is an honour as they have all had great seasons for their clubs.
