Earlier, the APC candidate had sought a court order directing INEC to declare him the winner of the March governorship election in Rivers.

However, the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal had already dismissed Cole’s petition in October, arguing that the APC, which sponsored Cole, had withdrawn the petition against Fubara’s victory.

Unsatisfied with the Tribunal’s decision, the APC candidate appealed to the higher court.

On Tuesday, the appellate court affirmed the Tribunal’s ruling, which had upheld Fubara’s electoral victory in October. Additionally, the court also dismissed the petition of the Accord Party.
