Akwa Ibom: Cleric, NAWOJians make Gov Eno’s list of 50 newly appointed media aides

A senior priest with the African Church, Rev’d Richard Peters and two other members of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Ekaette Okon-Joseph and Lucy Daniel were among the 50 media aides appointed by Governor Umo Eno on Wednesday night.

This came five months after the appointment his Chief Press Secretary and three other Senior Special Assistants on Media, Research and Documentation.

The Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, in a statement on Thursday, said the appointment took effect on November 1, 2023 and advised the appointees to go to his office for their appointment letters.

The statement said, “His Excellency, The Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has approved the appointment of the following persons as Aides on Media Matters to the governor with effect from 1st November 2023. They are advised to go to the office of the Secreatry to the State Government to get their appointment letters accordingly.”

Peters, one of the appointees who served under former governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration, thanked the governor fo finding them fit to serve under his administration.

Pledging his loyalty and commitment towards the interpretation of Governor Eno’s agenda in all the nooks and crannies of the state, Peters promised to work with relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies including the media to actualize it.

He noted that the appointment was in fulfilment of some of the campaign promises made by the governor to the media community.
